The Panhandle Geological Society is committed to supporting students pursuing careers in the geological sciences.
Ready to Apply?
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- Graduating high school seniors intending to major in geology or a related geoscience field, or
- Undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in a geology or geoscience program.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Preference may be given to students with ties to the Texas Panhandle and surrounding region and students who are members of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG).
Scholarship Award
PGS makes up to $3,000 available annually for scholarship awards. The Society’s goal is to provide meaningful financial support through a larger individual award whenever appropriate; however, the Scholarship Committee reserves the discretion to distribute available funds among multiple deserving recipients based on the strength of the applicant pool.

Scholarship recipients will be recognized through:
- The PGS website
- The PGS LinkedIn page
- Society meetings and events when applicable
