Welcome to the Panhandle Geological Society!

The Panhandle Geological Society (PGS) is located in Amarillo, Texas. Amarillo, being a vital and substantial part of the oil and gas industry, is centrally located within a vast exploration area that includes portions of five states: Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Since 1926 PGS has promoted the science of geology, especially as it applies to the petroleum industry. PGS was founded to help facilitate a freer exchange of ideas and to promote a greater feeling of friendship among the members of the geological community. Our current membership includes geologists, geophysicists, engineers, and landmen thus making PGS a truly multi-dimensional organization .

Meetings are generally held bi-monthly from September through May. Follow the Meetings page for the latest information.
