Abstract
In this talk Dr. Jolante Van Wijk presents the results of a study in which she used a standard basin modeling technique for petroleum system modeling of the northwestern Anadarko Basin. In addition to understanding the maturation, migration, and accumulation of hydrocarbons, she has applied the models to address enhanced oil recovery/carbon sequestration questions and for other subsurface energy resources.
About the Speaker
Dr. Jolante Van Wijk is a prospector, geophysicist and educator whose research focuses on lithospheric structure, tectonics, basin evolution, and energy-related geoscience applications. Her work integrates geophysical observations and numerical modeling to better understand the processes that shape sedimentary basins and influence subsurface resources. She has extensive experience teaching and conducting research on basin development, petroleum systems, and emerging energy opportunities.
